all of you out there who are in the process of moving in with your other half/partner/boyfriend/cat i'm going to be completely honest with you about what you can really expect. i've stated 'boy' in the title as let's face it, they never become men, especially when you find yourself picking up their dirty undies (Sorry Matt). of course it's not all bad because there are pro's and con's to everything:
CON's
- don't underestimate how much time they'll spend in the bathroom
- they can and will eat everything in the fridge and cupboards
- it's true what they say about the toilet seat
- their clothes will dominate the wardrobe
- you have to book time in advance to use the mirror
- if they're not already somewhat domesticated you really have your work cut out
- what they say and what they do are completely different things
- spending time alone goes from being a bad habit to something you crave
- never trust him when he says 'i'll be home early'
- it's impossible for them to swap the end of the toilet roll for a new one
- there will be moments when you find you sound exactly like your mother
- get used to any unsightly habits they may have, you'll be seeing a lot more of them
- there will be a constant debate about the heating
PRO's
- you can count on them for bringing the chocolate and ice cream home when in desperate need
- occasionally you will be surprised by a cooked meal or a takeaway
- there's nothing more comforting waking up next to someone who loves you every day
- you'll think of new ways to enjoy your evenings together
- unfortunately for them, you'll always have someone to take your monthly PMS symptoms out on
- they will be honest and tell you if you have something in your teeth
- it's nice having at least one person you can be completely yourself around
- on that note, it's also nice having someone that sees you without make-up & doesn't think you're a troll
- your film collection will double the size
- spending a day in bed at the weekend is romantic rather than a depressing Bridget Jones scene
- they will always be there to reach the top shelf
- sometimes guys can be just as bitchy which will always make you feel slightly smug
- you can now replace your pyjamas for his t-shirts
- becoming a crazy cat lady is completely over-rated

so there we have it, my honest and maybe brutal experience with living with... a boy. good luck!
